9mm Fully Automatic - Many people know this, but few have had the opportunity to try the GLOCK 18 once. During our visit to GLOCK, we had the opportunity to take a closer look at the gun, which can fire 1,200 rounds per minute.
Since its release in May 1987, the GLOCK 18 has been the G-sized tool in the manufacturer's product portfolio. It was the third handgun from GLOCK, after the GLOCK 17 and G17L.

Its tactical mission value is highly controversial, and since automatic weapons are not available to civilians in many countries, the weapon has never been widely adopted. However, and perhaps because of this, a certain mythology has built up around the classic fully automatic version of the service pistol.

The GLOCK 18 is technically very similar to the G17, with a barrel length of 114mm and a full bore. It has proven technology of the 3rd generation, but not the 4th or 5th generation due to very low sales.
The fire selector lever is on the left side of the slide. A bit awkward to use for lefties. At the highest setting, it fires semi-automatically, and at the lowest setting, it fires automatically.
The slide rails and corresponding steel inserts on the grip, however, are different from the civilian versions of the G17 models. Even the early models of the G18 had the grips painted red for better identification, but today you can only find this color on official training guns from the manufacturer.

In addition, the hole locking area is designed to be larger. In doing so, GLOCK deliberately avoids the possibility of swapping barrels and slides.
Magazines, on the other hand, are fully interchangeable, so cartridge cases as large as 33 rounds can be used.
In addition to the G18, there is also the G18 C, which comes with offset sights on the bar and a corresponding rest on the slide. This should allow better control during shooting.
When viewed from above, the differences between the GLOCK 18 and 18C in the compensation positions on the barrel and the corresponding rest are clearly visible.

The reloader technology and very short slide action (unlike a rifle) means the rate of fire is very high. The manufacturer claims this is 1,200 rounds per minute. So a 33 round magazine will empty in less than 1.7 seconds. By comparison, the Heckler & Koch MP5 achieved nearly 800 rounds per minute.
However, this high rate of fire does not make it easy to handle when loading a 1 kg weapon. In fully automatic shooting, the compensation model can be mastered in practice more easily.
In general, only experienced shooters should be trusted to use the GLOCK 18, as this weapon requires expert handling. The concentrated firepower hidden in this fully automatic pistol is shown here in a video clip. We can definitely agree that the CZ 75 is a very sexy pistol. So what could be sexier? How is the CZ 75 Auto? The CZ 75 was uniquely designed with a fully automatic mode.
The idea of creating a CZ 75 capable of fully automatic fire was born in Iwo Janeba in 1991. At the time, the CZ had no submachine gun in its 9mm barrel, so it was a good idea at least include a full one. automatic pistol in his bag.

In the early stages of development, only prototypes were made to fire in fully automatic mode. After testing in 1991, the second phase of development was launched. This time it was to develop a fire selector together with a safety. Stanislaw Strjižík created the first pair of prototypes. It was a simple solution that was tested by firing eight thousand rounds without fail. The main disadvantage of this system was that it only worked in one shift. Colleagues Koten and Kuba developed another system that works simultaneously in single and double action.
The mode selector has three positions, high fidelity, single-axis horizontal mode with slider, and fully automatic down. The firing order is indicated by the red dots. One red dot means single shot mode, two red dots mean full auto, and a red dot means safety is missing. Switching between safe and fire mode is done by pushing the lever up or down. But in full auto mode, you have to push the spring loaded handle forward and down. That way, the designers have prevented situations where you accidentally switch your pistol from safe to fully automatic.
The pistol weighs about a pound, making it light and stable enough for full-auto shooting. So the designers came up with a different idea of how to improve the usability of the weapon. The bottom of the metal magazine is slotted and spring-loaded for easy attachment to the front rail of the trigger guard. That way, you can be ahead of your spare magazine. This front grip greatly aids the handling of the weapon during full auto fire. A similar front clip can be found on the Beretta 93R, but this is a folding part of the gun. Another feature has been implemented to achieve the best stability during fully automatic fire. This time with a longer bore barrel (146mm). In the upper part of the hole, six holes are placed from the slide at the eleven and eleven o'clock positions. These holes act as compensators, expanding the firing gases, which help stabilize the barrel during firing.
There were different magazines for the CZ 75 Automatic. The main difference was the 15- or 16-round feature, as well as the 25-lap feature. The Rapid Response Unit, a SWAT-like unit of the Czech police, tested the pistols in 1992. It is headed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The result was negative. Uncontrollable muzzle rise during fully automatic fire was cited as the main reason for the rejection.

CZ decided to make a small series of these pistols anyway. Production began in 1995 and continued until 2000. Another batch of pistols were produced between 2002 and 2003 and the last pistols in 2007.
Only 2,382 CZ 75 submachine guns were made in total, which is rare and considered a collector's item these days.
